Lübkes Speicher in Lubeck

One star for the calm atmosphere (we were the only guests in the evening, but if you read the last few reviews a pattern seems to be visible here). The food itself (rump steak, allegedly from the grill with fried potatoes and mushrooms) could not convince. The steak was very tough and only lukewarm, the fried potatoes were too salty and quite greasy. The mushrooms were okay, but these were also quite greasy. The price (24.50) was way over the top for what I got. Too bad.

First of all: waiters without mask, no recognizable corona protective measures. Pikeperch fillet tasteless, vegetables poor and firm to the bite, for almost 20 euros you can expect more, that is better elsewhere. Not recommended!

The food was more or less ok. We could not pay by card and the waiter (older man) found it normal to ask for a 15 euro tip on a bill of 55 euro. We did not get any contact registration form, he had no mouth mask, and came much to close despite our remark about this! Bad experience!

Waiter (boss?) Very intimidating at checkout. Didn't keep any distance at all despite my question. He gestured that he did not hear. Came way too close to us despite corona. We could only pay with money. We gave 15 euros more than the bill and he asked if he could keep it as drinking money and that was no joke. We also did not have to fill in a contact form despite obligation. He was also anything but friendly to his staff. So can only advise against it!

Certainly my worst clod ever! Wiener Schnitzel a bit better, but still never worth the overpriced price. The 2nd star is solely due to the good location.

The restaurant is in a beautiful location and the service is very pleasant. We were very satisfied with the food and the drinks were well chilled. If we are in Lübeck again we will definitely come back.

You can eat very well here. The food was delicious and the waiters are in a good mood. I can only recommend it.

Pan fried fish a la Hamburg ??? Two small half fish fillets with "fried potatoes" and cucumber salad. The taste of the fish fillets wasn't bad, they were tasteless. The cucumber salad was in a dessert bowl and just covered the floor, but it tasted like it was fresh out of the bucket. The fried potatoes were drowned in oil and burned instead of searing them and finally tossing them in butter. All the fun for € 17.90. The older waiter gave a snappy answer to the complaint about this bad menu. No excuse that something went wrong, no schnapps from the house. The tables were neither wiped nor disinfected when guests left, no corona data sheet. Paid a total of € 40.80 for poorly prepared ready-made meals. Never again here

There are two stars only for the beautiful location. The service was a disaster. Order taken incorrectly (I also noticed it at the neighboring tables during our dinner), the food was sometimes cold and the fish, unfortunately, much too dry. Tables were not disinfected after the guests left.

The fish and chips are not good. The small piece of fish was not freshly made and I suspect it was frozen and just thrown in the frier. This is fine for 10€ but here it was almost twice the price. The owner seems to be using the location as justification for poor food. The location is the reason I am giving this 2 stars..

Good location, right on the water. Shady places. Friendly service. Salad nothing special. Vegetarian vegetables baked drowned in hollandaise sauce. Too expensive for that.

A nice ambience, with good food. From fish and trout to schnitzel and vegetarian dishes, everyone gets their money's worth here, and they are not exactly excessive. But it is very well occupied and the tables get full quickly towards evening, after 7 p.m. there were no more tables available.

After we waited 15 minutes until a waitress took pity on coming to us, we had made ourselves noticed several times, we were told that it would take 30 minutes before we could order. It is always said that the tone makes the music and as impolite as it was we got up and left. I very much hope for the guests who have received their food that it is better than the service.

The only positive thing is the location on the water. The service is just bad though. The waiter mixed up everything and couldn't memorize anything, although he supposedly wrote it down. Cakes and waffles are frozen goods, this is a real rip-off and fooling around! In addition, the prices are excessive, but that certainly makes the location. Here you can go for a beer. But definitely not more!

Nice service, unfortunately the fish was still as it should be. You would probably have to go to a fish restaurant. Fish mustn't be through, unfortunately he was. Otherwise a nice place to sit.

A cozy restaurant with a very nice outdoor terrace. Sitting here in fine weather with delicious food and a glass of wine, is something special! There are fish and meat dishes in good Selection. So far I have never been disappointed. The food comes relatively quickly and you are friendly and courteous.

Fish soup was too too salty and the cod fish was not too bad. Very fresh fish. It is a busy restaurant so you will have to be patient to get your orders in, wait for food and also settle your bill.

Good food and pleasant service

My GF and I came there for a dinner last November. Was for a kind of celebration and we chose randomly the place. The atmosphere is basic, The place a bit rustic (something I like by the way). The restaurant was not busy. We were like 10 persons inside around 7/7:30 PM, and we were all foreign speaker. The waiter was really nice and pleasant, speaking in 4/5 languages (German, English, French, Italian..). We had a good red wine and I took a steak. The food was great, well cooked and a good portion. The steak came with some vegetables and bacons (which was super good). My GF took a fish with some vegetables. We both really enjoyed the food and the mood there. I took a "crême brulée" for the dessert and it was really good. It was definitely the best meat and crême brulée I ate in Lübeck so far.

Very nicely decorated cozy restaurant. The waitress was very polite and you didn't have to wait long for your meal. It has a wide selection of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. The food was also very tasty. Now go out to eat more often.

Rude old grumpy waiter Medium food Got a menu card , and saw they had red wine (Chianti for 5.5 euro pr.glas for 0,2L) we order a bottle of Chianti (0,7 L). When we received the bill, the price for the Chianti was 40 euro??, I don’t think I ever have seen a Chianti red wine with that price tag in Lübeck....I even don’t recall seen any red wine with that price tag on a restaurant we have visit in Lübeck. Complaining did not help, “English not good” they said, when I started talking German, they where quickly to say, “sorry there is nothing to do”. Conclusion. Go to another restaurant where you wont be “robbed” of you money, there are lots of good and fair restaurants in Lübeck. The grumpy waiter still did not understand why they did not get any tip.
